Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress has received numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. Early on, the accomplished actress began playing on stage for various Broadway or Off Broadway productions. From the time she was a child, she has been passionate about performing. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. In the fifth grade, due to mumps, she lost hearing in her left ear. But she didn't allow that to stop her. While in college, she studied drama after which she relocated in New York City with her ambitions in mind. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together in Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since she was a part of the film she has appeared in many films, television movies and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrity as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
