Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is recognized for her outstanding performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress won numerous awards like an Oscar for the movie Piano. The actress began her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. Acting has always been her passion. In fifth grade, she acted as Helen Keller. As a result of having Mumps, she was deaf on one side of her ear. The deafness was not enough to stop her desire to pursue a career as an actress. In her early years, she took classes in drama at university and later moved in New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. Hunter moved into Los Angeles and tried to find movie roles. The film, Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. In the last three decades Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
